Inspection Proving Vessel’s Free from Asian Gypsy Moth

The Japanese Government has agreements with the US and Canadian Governments with regard to the schemes for proving vessel’s free from Asian Gypsy Moth (hereinafter, “AGM”) which came into effect on Jun. 1, 2007.

Accordingly, all ships that have called at designated area during the flying period of AGM, will not be permitted to enter any US and Canadian ports, unless they have (i) an acceptable certificate (NKKK issues a “Certificate of Inspection of Freedom from Asian Gypsy Moth in Japan” for this purpose) or (ii) are inspected on entering US and Canadian waters.
